Lots of misinformation regarding the Towers of Channelside and Downtown Condos has condo buyers confused.
TOWERS OF CHANNELSIDE CURRENT MLS LISTINGS
As the on-site Broker we answer a lot of questions from people, including Realtors and prospective buyers with all sorts of misinformation about Downtown Tampa condos, Harbour island condos and Channelside condos. I would like to clear up a least a few of the ones we hear most about The Towers of Channelside.
1. The Banks, including Wachovia, do not own or run The Towers of Channelside.

On February 1, 2008 the Developer, Towers of Channelside LLC, Filed Chapter 11. This came in response to the banks withholding a draw due to the developer to be used for everything from marketing to paying the HOA fee for unsold units. As a result the lenders on the project released the funds and all parties are working toward an agreement or “plan” which will keep the Towers of Channelside solvent and able to pay their portion of HOA fees for at least the next 5 years.
2. The Towers of Channelside has hosted 4 parties for groups outside of residents of The Towers.
Two of these parties were fundraisers for local charities and were very good events. The Ryan Nece Foundation spent a lot of money to decorate and transform the 35000 sq ft pool deck into an event many of the guests including Tampa Bay Buccaneer players, dignitaries and local news reporters will remember for a long time to come. The second, Havana nights was held to raise money for the intellectually challenged through a foundation called Business Buddies. The other 2 events were Pool parties. The first was not very well planned, the second a birthday party for Buccaneer player Alex Smith. Both parties drew over 300 people. The Homeowners association has agreed not to host such parties, in the future.
3. The pool is not drained, green or leaking water. The lights are all on in the building. People are living in both towers.
These might be my favorites of all the ones we here. There also the easiest to overcome. The sales office is open 7 days a week and we encourage Realtors and potential buyers to come and view the property all the time, anytime. All work is complete and and the property is being well maintained. Residents and friends use the pool and clubhouse daily.
